Crossing the English Channel

To get to England, we entered the Eurotunnel train. It is a bit pricey, but only takes 30 minutes, and is sooooo cool. You drive your car onto the train, as you would drive onto a ferry. Once you enter the tunnel, you don't see anything, so it's not the option to take if you want a ride with a view. The trip is from Calais, France to Folkestone, England. The horse is in England and is made of cut limestone slabs. It represents England's celtic heritage of chalk carvings. It was made to celebrate the new millenium, though it wasn't finished until 2003.

From Mom:

Once on the train, where did you go or did you sit in the car while the train zoomed?

What a fun experience. Quick is good since I would like to see more of England than of water. :-)

We probably will not get up that way after our mission as we once thought. Still would like to take a trip to Paris on the train, the fast one.

You can stand outside of your car, but once in the tunnel, it would only be to stretch you legs. The rest of the time is spent in the car.

That would be a cool experience, even if you didn't have a view. :)
