The Loire valley is full of Chateaus, but we only visited two. After Villandry we stopped at Chambord. Jean le Breton, one of King François I’s finance ministers, built Villandry as well as supervised the construction of Chambord in the 1500's. I am very impressed with the knowledge and focus on detail that went into this building. There are 365 chimneys! (thus the elaborate roof).

WOW! The outside of this Chateau truly is exquisite and the decor inside looks so intriguing! I cannot wait to tour France!! (someday...)
